What to the Black American is The Revolution?

The white dream of anarchy?

The city up in smoke?

The closing of businesses?

What to the Black American is The Revolution?

Is it working together?

Disregarding the problem but focused on solution.

Is it social welfare?

The Naked clothed, Hungry Fed and, giving the elderly care.

Is it starting at home?

Teaching children to read and the putting down of the phone.

What to the Black American is The Revolution?

Is it the erasure of this nation?

Changing the names of your “historic” plantations.

Is it an organized group?

Collective security for the purpose of putting the enemy through hoops.

Is it love, peace, and safely having fun?

Living it up expressing the self under the Summer Sun

What to the Black American is The Revolution won?

Must be the absence of our eyes on the Gun.

Must be the foundation of granite never shaken by temptation.

Must be an organized people with one message; Won.

Must be the soul of black folk , these hymns we’ve sung.

What to the Black American is The Revolution?

Must be the Star, Moon, Sun

Must be the war that’s been won

Must be these youth who won’t bite their tongue

Must be that love to be One

What to the Black American is The Revolution?

It is the absence of problem; it is Solution.
